Pillow is a new ensemble performing the dark and cinematic compositions of composer, multi instrumentalist and collaborator James Osler.

“With an ever growing disconnect from the natural world, my mission is to create a sonic landscape for people to reconnect with those simple and beautiful moments which can bring calm and presence to our lives, be it the sound of the rain or the awe of the cosmos.”

The music captures the richness of a classical tone, whilst retaining the freedom of improvisation and the storytelling of folk like melodies. Sighting influence from artists such as Jonny Greenwood, Max Richter and Harold Budd to name a few, Pillow embarks on telling their own story of how sounds can emerge and give meaning to life’s experiences.

“In the ever growing chaos of our noisy modern world, music is needed more than ever to help reconnect with the beauty that’s still around us. I hope for my music to help give someone a space for reflection, thought and peace, the same way I have found it in others.”
